Camp Treasury

Our Treasurer is charged with receiving and disbursing Camp funds, recording transactions, and planning for the financial health of the Camp.

Why Contribute?

The vitality of the Camp and its activities are the direct result of the creativity and industry of our membership. Your financial assistance ensures that Theorte Ekstasis Camp will have the means to improve and expand the facilities and services we offer, including Initiation, the Gnostic Mass, Education, our Library, Feasts and all that our Mission implies. We always appreciate such donations!

Your contribution will primarily support the Camp rental and maintenance costs, which are the vast majority of our expenses and our first priority in budgeting. So much of what we do depends on the ability to maintain a temple outside the homes of our members. We do have income exceeding these expenses, however, and that excess is spent:

  • to improve our existing resources and materials, like temple furniture, equipment, magical weapons, and so on;
  • to improve our departmental budgets, so that for example we may purchase consumables that are generally donated by members
  • to implement your vision for events and projects.

Membership

Our members build the Camp with regular financial contributions and, frequently, contributions of time and energy. This gives all of us a firm foundation to walk upon, and a monthly income that we can rely on for the basics. As each of us contributes our fair share, we attain self-sufficiency and our fundraising efforts can go toward improving our services, furniture, etc. Encourage your brothers and sisters!

Initiates of O.T.O. and Confirmed Laity of the E.G.C. may take up Membership in the Camp.

Overview

Eligibility

  • Initiates of I° or above in O.T.O. may participate in our membership program.
  • Minerval members of the O.T.O. and those confirmed in the E.G.C. are guests of the order and are not required to pay local dues; however donations are always welcome.

Dues

For membership, we request a wage-based contribution of X% of income. This ensures that your contribution remains affordable to you if your income fluctuates, and it helps us to be able to plan on your continued support. Our minimum dues rate is $120 per year, or $10 per month.

Dues are due on the 1st of each month.

See the following table for an example of pledging 1% of your income:

Hourly Wage Monthly Dues Yearly Dues
$7.25 $12.57 $150.80
$8.00 $13.87 $166.40
$8.50 $14.73 $176.80
$9.00 $15.60 $187.20
$9.50 $16.47 $197.60
$10.00 $17.33 $208.00
$10.50 $18.20 $218.40

$11.50 $19.93 $239.20
$12.00 $20.80 $249.60

There are four ways to make your dues payment:

  • Place it in the white donation box at all Camp events.
  • Hand it to the Treasurer in person.
  • Mail your check, payable to: Theorte Ekstasis

Benefits

  • Dues current members will be able to attend all monthly local Camp classes and meetings free of charge
  • Any special events can be attended at discounted prices for dues current members
  • Any member not dues current can attend any special event by paying full event price

Financial Hardship

In the event of temporary financial hardship, members may make private arrangements by direct consultation with the Camp Master.

Pledges & Donations

Please make a pledge, a monthly financial contribution to the Camp on a sliding scale. We recommend approximately 3% of your income, or about 5-6 hours of a full-time wage per month. Pledging is a popular way that our members contribute, since it ensures the Camp will prosper with its members, and contributions remain affordable for everyone. Counting on your help means we can plan for the continued improvement of the Camp: our rites, celebrations, classes, publications and other endeavors.

As always, all occasional donations to Theorte Ekstasis by anyone are greatly appreciated. We have been given many sizeable contributions over the years in the form of unexpected, occasional contributions. Whether you throw $3 in the jar, or donate half of your tax refund, donations like these have always helped considerably in our efforts to maintain financial stability. Today, these kinds of gifts propel us toward having the ability to constantly improve the services we offer.
